Chocolate cake depends on rich flavor and so use the highest quality cocoa you can find. The darker the hue of the cocoa, the more satisfying the chocolate flavor would be.
Opt for a shiny pan instead of dark ones as the latter will absorb more of the oven's heat—in a way that dark clothing absorbs more heat from sunlight.
Instead of dusting your pan with flour, use cocoa for the same. It will also add an extra chocolatey flavor to the cake.
A half teaspoon of sea salt can do wonders for your chocolate cake. It is a great flavour enhancer and balances out the sweetness quite well.
