This traditional Indian drink is worth trying! Made with milk, sugar, dry fruits, and saffron. Serve it chilled as a lip- Smacking Dessert.
1 liter full fat milk 1 teaspoon green cardamom pods 1 teaspoon saffron (kesar) 1 pinch nutmeg (jaiphal) 1 ⅓ Cup granulated white sugar 1 tablespoon almond, sliced 1 tablespoon pistachio, sliced
To start with heat a heavy bottom saucepan and add milk to it. Add cardamom powder and stir.
Now add some saffron strands, nutmeg powder to the milk and stir to combine them well.
Now, heat the milk on a low temperature while continuing to stir it frequently to prevent bottom burn.
Once the milk reduces to almost half of the original amount, add sugar, stir to combine, wait until it combines fully
Once the consistency is thick and smooth Turn off the heat. Your basundi is ready!
Take a bowl add the basundi, Top it with sliced dry fruits and saffron strands. Serve chilled!
