Ever Tried Taak - The Chaas From Maharashtra?

In Maharashtra, buttermilk is referred to as taak – a spicy, salty and tangy drink which strikes the right balance of flavours on your palate.  

Also referred to as 'Mattha' by the locals, the drink is enriched with the goodness of nutrients that can benefit your health.

Ingredients

1 cup Dahi 2 cups Water to taste Salt 1/2 tsp Hing

Ingredients

1 tsp Jeera powder    1/2 tsp Ginger, grated   1/2 tsp Green chillies, chopped     1 tsp Coriander leaves, freshly chopped

Step 1

Take dahi and water in a blender and blend well. Add more water if needed.  

Step 2

Add hing, jeera powder and ginger and blend again. Transfer the drink in a jug and add green chillies and coriander leaves to it.  

Step 3

Mix everything well, transfer in a tall glass serve. You can add ice to it too.
