Ever Tried South Indian Style Ginger Chutney?

Ingredients

2 tbsp ginger 15 whole red chillies 1 tbsp chana dal 1 tbsp urad dal 1 tbsp gur powder (jaggery) 1 tbsp imli paste

Ingredients

1 tsp mustard seeds A pinch of hing 1 tsp coriander seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 5-6 curry leaves 1 tsp methi seeds 

Heat oil in a pan and add ginger. Saute till the colour changes, and keep aside.

Now add chana dal, urad dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, methi seeds and red chillies in the same pan. Saute for 2-3 minutes and  set aside to cool down. 

Once the masala cools down, add gur powder, fried ginger and imli paste to it. Grind to make  a paste. 

Now prepare a tadka with curry leaves, hing, chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds and red chillies.

Pour the tadka over the prepare masala and your south-style ginger chutney is ready.
