Layered and loaded – the club sandwich makes for a great sharing snack or a hearty meal for one, bringing old-school flavours to each bite. A great way to use up leftovers as well as enjoy a variety of textures between slices of bread, tap to see the full recipe.
3 slices white bread 1 grilled chicken breast, sliced 1 fried egg 4-5 slices cooked bacon 2 leaves lettuce 4 slices tomato 1 tablespoon mayonnaise 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard Salt and pepper, to taste Toothpicks
Toast the bread on both sides before applying a layer of mayonnaise mixed with mustard on one side of each slice.
Place a leaf of lettuce on the bottom slice, followed by the grilled chicken slices, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Once you place another slice of bread over the chicken, add the lettuce leaf, tomato slices and bacon on the top layer.
Place the fried egg carefully over the toppings and sandwich with the third slice of bread.
Cut diagonally before securing with a toothpick on each half. Serve with chips or fries.
