Thawing curry masala properly ensures it retains its flavours and texture. Here's a simple guide to defrost your curry masala efficiently without compromising on taste.
Place the frozen curry masala in the fridge overnight. This slow thawing method helps retain its flavours and prevents bacterial growth.
For a quicker method, submerge the sealed container or bag of curry masala in cold water. Change the water every 30 minutes until thawed.
Use the defrost setting on your microwave for a faster thaw, but keep an eye on it to avoid overcooking.
Place the frozen masala directly in a pan over low heat, stirring occasionally until fully thawed.
Once thawed, use the masala immediately to preserve its freshness and avoid refreezing.
