1 ½ cups all-purpose flour ½ cup cocoa powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup white granulated sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds 3 tbsp hot water 1 cup soy milk or any other plant-based milk 2 tsp vanilla extract ⅓ cup vegetable oil 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
In a bowl, sift the flour and cocoa powder. Add in the sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix everything together.
Mix 1 tbsp flaxseeds with 3 tbsp hot water and let it sit for a minute so that it can become gloopy.
Add flax mixture, soy milk, oil, vanilla extract and vinegar to the mixing bowl. Mix well.
Pour the batter evenly in the prepared cake pan and let it bake for 25 to 30 minutes in an oven preheated at 180 degrees Celsius.
Do the toothpick test and when done, take out the cake and allow it cool down.
When done, do the frosting or enjoy as it is!
