It is common to crave street food every now and then, but going and queuing up in the crowd can be a hassle. Try an easy street-style chicken shawarma roll with all the ingredients in your home.
1 kg boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs 1/2 cup Greek yoghurt 2 cloves garlic 1 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/4 cup chopped coriander 1/4 cup chopped red onion Pita bread or flatbread
Mix the yoghurt, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, lemon juice, olive oil, and chicken. Marinate for at least 5 minutes.
Cook for 5-7 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the pan and shred it with two forks.
Place a spoonful of shredded chicken on a pita bread or flatbread. Top with chopped coriander, red onion, and your favourite sauces or toppings.
Serve and enjoy!
