Easy Steps To Make Bharwan Mirch At Home

Also known as Besan Bhari Mirch, this Rajasthani dish sees large chillies stuffed with spiced chickpea flour and pan fried till softened. Here's how to make it at home.

20 large green chillies 6 tbsp vegetable oil 2 cup gram flour/besan 4 tsp coriander powder 2 tsp turmeric powder 4 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder 4 tsp crushed fennel 4 tsp dry mango powder/amchoor 4 tsp salt

Ingredients

Add a tablespoon of oil in a heated pan and roast the besan until it's nutty and fragrant.

Step 1

Remove the besan from the pan and add it to a mixing bowl followed by the spices. Mix them well until incorporated.

Step 2

Wash and slit the large green chillies. Scoop out its insides and stuff them with the spiced besan mixture.

Step 3

In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the stuffed chillies in batches. Cover with lid and cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, to get a char on the outside.

Serve it as a side dish during meals or as a snack alongside ketchup and spicy green chutney.
