First step in the process is to collect malai. Collecting a substantial amount of malai is important.

Next, start churning the malai. Mix so well that you see milk and butter separating.

Now, add ice cubes and churn for a few more minutes. Butter will start appearing on the fore.

Now, separate butter from the buttermilk using a strainer and rinse it with cold water.

Heat a pan and add the homemade butter. As the butter melts, it will start to bubble. Stir occasionally.

When the butter colour changes from yellow to golden brown, continue to cook on low heat.

When milk solids settle in the bottom, your ghee is ready. Turn off the flame and store after it cools down.
