Ragi, also called finger millet, offers numerous health benefits because it is gluten-free and loaded with fibre and complex carbohydrates. It helps with weight loss, boosts energy levels, strengthens bones, and regulates blood sugar levels. Here is a smoothie recipe to try out to extract its maximum benefits.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons ragi flour 1 tablespoon cocoa powder 1 glass water 1 glass milk Brown sugar/jaggery powder to taste 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder 6 soaked, peeled, and chopped almonds 3 tablespoons grated dark chocolate 1/4 teaspoon chocolate essence 2 glasses of milk to make a smoothie 1 banana

Step 1

Add ragi flour and cocoa powder in 1/2 cup of water, and mix well to make a smooth batter.

Step 2

Now add milk and remaining water in a thick bottom and deep pan. Once it boils, add the ragi solution while stirring with a spoon.

Step 3

Keep the flame low at this stage and keep stirring continuously with a spoon so that there are no lumps and the mixture does not stick to the bottom.

Step 4

When it boils well and becomes thick, add cinnamon powder, almonds, brown sugar, dark chocolate, and chocolate essence. Mix well.

Step 5

Boil it a little. If you find this paste too thick then add a little milk or water to it. You can also store this paste and make a smoothie.

Step 6

Now add the banana pieces to the grinder along with the prepared paste and milk and beat them well.

Step 7

Cool it a little and serve. You can add dry fruits or chopped fruits on top.
