A vegetarian starter with the perfect hit of spiciness, this Paneer Pepper Dry dish can be enjoyed as it is or with a bowl of noodles and fried rice. Check out the recipe and give it a try.

200g paneer, cubed ¾ cup cornflour ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp black pepper powder ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp salt Oil, to fry
For the sauce: 2 tbsp oil 1 tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp fennel seeds ¼ tsp asafoetida 1 sprig curry leaves 1 cup onion, chopped ½ cup capsicum, chopped ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp garam masala ½ tsp black pepper powder 2 tbsp tomato sauce Salt, to taste 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
Mix the paneer, cornflour, turmeric, pepper, red chilli and salt in a bowl. Fry the paneer cubes until crispy.

Heat oil in a wok, then add the cumin seeds, fennel seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and let them splutter.
Add the onions, ginger-garlic paste, capsicum and mix well. Saute for 10 minutes on a medium heat.

Add turmeric powder, garam masala, pepper, salt and tomato sauce and mix well.
Once the mixture is cooked, add the fried paneer, toss quickly in the sauce and serve with coriander leaves on top.
