In the world of South Indian cuisine, dosas reign supreme as a staple. Crispy yet tender, they are a versatile dish and filled with flavourful fillings. Among the myriad dosa recipes, the oats dosa stands out for its wholesome goodness and simplicity. Take a look at the recipe here.
1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup rice flour 1/4 cup semolina (optional) 1/4 cup yoghurt 1 green chilli, finely chopped 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves Salt to taste Water as needed Oil for cooking
Grind the rolled oats into a fine powder. In a mixing bowl, combine oats powder, rice flour, semolina, yoghurt, chopped green chilli, onion, coriander leaves, and salt.
Gradually add water and mix well to form a smooth batter. The consistency should be similar to that of regular dosa batter.
Heat a non-stick pan or a dosa tawa over medium heat. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the center of the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
Drizzle a teaspoon of oil around the edges of the dosa and cook until the bottom turns golden brown. Flip the dosa and cook the other side until crisp.
Serve hot oats dosa with coconut chutney, sambar, or any chutney of your choice
