Chana Masala is perfect for any occasion. Whether it is a wholesome lunch meal or a satisfying dinner, chana masala brings flavour with nutrition to your platter. Check out this easy recipe to make chana masala effortlessly.
2 Cups Cooked Chickpeas 1 large onion, finely chopped 2 tomatoes, finely chopped 3 garlic cloves, minced 1-inch piece of ginger, minced 2 green chillies, chopped (optional) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon garam masala 1 teaspoon chilli powder Salt to taste 1 cup water Fresh Cornader and lemon wedges
In a large pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Let it sizzle for few seconds then add chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.
Add minced garlic, ginger and green chillies to the pan and saute until fragrant.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften for about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in ground coriander, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chilli powder, and salt. Cook the spices in tomato for 2-3 minutes while stirring.
Add chickpeas to the pan and coat it well in the spice mixture. Once done, add water and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Let it cook for 10-15 minutes to make flavours meld together. If the gravy gets thick, add a bit more water.
Garnish with fresh herbs and coriander and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
