Moon milk is a traditional beverage which is a part of the long-standing medicine branch, Ayurveda. It is believed that this elixir offers various health benefits including better sleep quality and overall well-being since it incorporates a wide range of spices making it an ideal drink before bedtime.
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based) 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp ginger 1/4 tsp cardamom 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup Optional: Pinch of black pepper, pinch of nutmeg, and saffron strands
Heat milk in a saucepan until just warm.
Add turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom to milk. Sweeten milk with honey or maple syrup.
Optionally, add black pepper, nutmeg, and saffron. Heat and stir until spices blend.
Strain to remove spice particles. Serve warm for a relaxing bedtime drink.
