Easy Mawa Rusk Recipe To Elevate Your Teatime

Rusk and tea is a match made in heaven, also called chai-toast and everyone in India will swear by it. But it's time to move over your regular toast and try this even more delicious mawa rusk. Here's a recipe for you to try:

Ingredients

1 cup mawa (khoya) 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup melted butter 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cardamom powder 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet.

Step 2

Mix mawa, sugar, butter, and milk in a bowl until smooth. Add flour, baking powder, cardamom powder, and nuts. Mix into a dough.

Step 3

Shape the dough into a rectangular log. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool slightly.

Step 4

Slice the baked log into thin pieces. Bake slices at 300°F (150°C) for 15-20 minutes until crisp.
