Ice cream is the quintessential summer dessert, and no matter how many flavours arrive in the market, the one flavour that will never go out of style is the classic vanilla. However, making this ice cream at home is much more rewarding, and this simple recipe will help you achieve that.
2 cups full-fat milk or full-cream milk 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp cornstarch (cornflour) Chopped nuts of your choice for topping
Mix 1 cup of cream, sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan.
Add vanilla seeds or extract to the mixture.
Warm the mixture until the sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat, add remaining cream, milk, and vanilla. Chill the custard.
Churn in an ice cream maker for 25-30 minutes. Freeze for at least 2 hours.
Enjoy your homemade vanilla ice cream with the chopped nuts of your choice.
