Hibiscus tea is ab herbal tea that contains relaxing properties, anthocyanins, and anti-inflammatory properties. This tea is made of fried hibiscus petals and exudes a vibrant colour and tangy flavour. It can either be served hot or in the form of iced tea. Take a look at how to make hibiscus tea at home:
2 tbsp Dried hibiscus petals 4 cups of Water Sweetener (optional): Honey, sugar, or agave syrup to taste Lemon slices (optional, for added zest)
In a saucepan, add water and bring it to boil. Once boiling, add the dried hibiscus flowers to the water.
Remove the saucepan from heat and cover it. Let the mixture steep for about 10-15 minutes to extract the flavors fully.
After steeping, strain the tea into a pitcher or teapot using a fine mesh strainer to remove the hibiscus flowers.
Sweeten the tea with your preferred sweetener while it's still warm. Stir until the sweetener dissolves completely.
Let the tea cool to room temperature before refrigerating if you prefer it cold. Alternatively, you can serve it warm immediately after preparation.
Add lemon slices to the tea for an extra burst of citrus flavor and a touch of visual appeal.
