Homemade cilantro chutney is a refreshing green sauce, often paired with Indian snacks like pakoras, samosas, and parathas. It adds a tangy, spicy flavour, making it a perfect side for various dishes.
2 small bunches cilantro (50-60g each), hard stems removed 1 green chilli (or to taste) 1/2 inch ginger 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder 1/8 tsp chaat masala (optional) Pinch of black pepper 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste) 2 tsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp sugar 1/4 cup plain yoghurt
Rinse the cilantro thoroughly to remove any dirt or grit. Chop the cilantro, green chilli, and ginger into smaller pieces.
Place the chopped ingredients into a blender or food processor.
Add cumin powder, chaat masala, black pepper, and salt to the blender.
Squeeze in the lemon juice, add sugar and yoghurt to the mix. Blend until smooth, adjusting salt and lemon juice as needed.
Serve fresh or refrigerate the chutney for later use.
