A warm, crisp, and gooey cheese sandwich is the perfect comfort food. With just a few ingredients and simple steps, you can prepare a delicious grilled cheese sandwich in under 20 minutes. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
8 to 10 slices soft bread 3 to 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened 1 cup grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese 1 tsp dried parsley, oregano and thyme ½ to 1 tsp crushed black pepper 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (or 1 tsp dried basil) ¼ tsp salt or as required
Slice the bread loaf into ½ inch slices, yielding about 8 to 10 slices.
Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
Top half of the buttered slices with 3 to 4 tbsp grated cheese.
Sprinkle dried herbs, red chilli flakes, black pepper, fresh basil, and celery over the cheese.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt, then cover each topped slice with another buttered slice.
Heat a skillet on low to medium-low, melt butter, and place the sandwich on it.
Grill until golden on both sides, pressing gently with a spatula for even toasting. Cut and serve hot.
