A trustworthy bread pudding recipe is an essential tool for every home chef. With only a few staple ingredients, you can whip up this delicious classic recipe in no time.
6 slices of day-old bread, torn into small pieces 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted ½ cup raisins (Optional) 2 cups of milk ¾ cup white sugar 4 large eggs, beaten 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place the torn bread pieces into an 8-inch square baking dish.
Pour the melted butter over the bread and sprinkle with raisins.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Pour this mixture over the bread, pressing down lightly with a fork until the bread is soaked.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes until golden brown and the top springs back when pressed.
