Easy Bread Gulab Jamun Recipe For A Quick Dessert Fix

Gulab jamun, one of the quintessential Indian desserts is traditionally made with khoya and ghee, later dipped into sugar syrup. This version of the delicacy uses bread as its main ingredient in place of khoya and is an easier recipe to work with while also being more pocket-friendly.

Ingredients

6 slices of white bread 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 1 cup water 1/2 tsp cardamom powder Ghee for frying Chopped nuts (optional) Saffron strands (optional)

Step 1

Soak bread in milk to soften, then mash it into dough for texture and moisture absorption.

Step 2

Shape dough into small balls for easy frying and uniform size.

Step 3

Fry balls until golden for a crispy exterior and cooked interior.

Step 4

Boil sugar, water, and cardamom for sweet, aromatic syrup.

Step 5

Soak fried balls in syrup for flavour infusion and sweetness balance.

Step 6

Serve garnished with nuts and saffron for added texture and visual appeal.
