Here is the recipe to try:

1 banana flower  1 cup of rice flour  2 tablespoons of corn flour  1 teaspoon turmeric powder  1 teaspoon chilli powder  Salt to taste  Oil for deep-frying

Step 1

Remove the outer layers to reach the tender, pale-coloured florets inside. Collect the florets and keep them aside.

In a bowl, add rice flour, corn flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt. Mix them well. Add water and make a thick batter.

Heat oil in a pan for deep-frying.

Dip the chopped banana florets into the mixture. Make sure they are coated well. Shake off any excess flour.
