Badam pakoda, or almond fritters, are a crispy Indian snack that is perfect for tea time or when you want to munch something during the say. Here’s a quick recipe to make these crunchy almond snacks.
1 cup raw almonds 1/3 cup besan 1/3 cup water Salt to taste Red chilli powder to taste A pinch of turmeric powder 1/4 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp amchur powder 1/2 tsp coriander powder A pinch of baking soda Cooking oil for frying
Soak the almonds in hot water, then peel off the skins.
Make a batter by whisking besan, water, all the spices, and baking soda.
Heat some oil. Dip each almond in the batter and coat them evenly.
Deep fry the coated almonds till they are golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Serve with your favourite chutney.
