1/2 cup rice 1/2 cup moong dal 1 tbsp ghee 1 bay leaf Pinch of hing 2 cardamoms 1 cinnamon 2 cloves 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 chopped onion 1 green chili 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 cup carrot 2 tbsp capsicum ¼ tsp turmeric ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder Handful of coriander leaves ½ tsp garam masala 1 tsp salt 3 cups water

Take a pressure cooker and add ghee. Add bay leaf, cardamoms, cinnamon, cloves, cumin and hing.

Add onions and sauté. Then add green chili and ginger garlic paste. Add tomato and cook well.

Add other veggies and sauté well. Now, add turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala and salt. Saute it well on low flame.

Now, add rice and moong dal. Mix well on low flame. Add water and coriander leaves.

Pressure cook the ingredients for 5 whistles on medium flame. When done, serve the khichdi with with pickle or curd.
