Easy And Delicious Arisi Murukku Recipe For Home Cooks

Arisi murukku is a simple, crunchy snack made with rice flour. Flavoured with butter, ajwain, cumin, sesame seeds, and asafoetida, this traditional delight is perfect for festive occasions.

Ingredients

2 cups rice flour 2-3 tablespoons melted butter 2 teaspoons sesame seeds ½ teaspoon cumin seeds ½ teaspoon ajwain ¼ teaspoon asafoetida Salt to taste

Step 1

Mix rice flour, sesame seeds, cumin, ajwain, asafoetida, salt, and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, crack-free dough.

Step 2

Fill a murukku press with the dough, using a clover-shaped holed plate. Grease 3-4 flat spatulas and squeeze the murukku onto them.

Step 3

Heat oil in a kadai on medium heat and slide in the squeezed murukku. Cook until both sides are slightly golden, then drain and set aside.

Step 4

Re-fry the cooled murukku on low flame until golden, then drain on paper towels.
