Durga Puja is a joyous time to celebrate with your family. There are several festive recipes that you can try at home. Here is a simple and unique mutton ghughni recipe.

500 gms boneless mutton 1 cup soaked yellow matar 2-3 tbsp mustard oil 2-3 dry red chillies 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 cup finely chopped onions 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp red chilli powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp sugar Chopped coriander leaves Lemon wedges for serving

Drain the soaked yellow peas and cook them in a pressure cooker with enough water and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

In a pan, heat mustard oil and add bay leaf, red chillies, and cumin seeds. Sauté onions and ginger-garlic paste. Cook for 5 mins.

Then add mutton, spices, and salt. Cook until the mutton browns and becomes tender, adding water as needed.

Combine the cooked yellow peas, sugar, and adjust seasoning. Garnish with coriander and serve with lemon wedges.
