Dry Moong Dal: Protein-Rich Winter Breakfast Recipe

Moong dal is a versatile ingredient that can be used to prepare snacks or breakfast. It adds loads of protein to the spread and allows you to indulge in a delicious meal without compromising taste.

Ingredients

1 cup soaked moong dal 1.5 cups chopped onions 3 tbsp oil 1 tsp red chilli powder 2 green chillies 1 tsp cumin seeds ½ cup coriander leaves 1 tbsp garlic ½ tsp turmeric Salt to taste ¼ tsp garam masala 1 cup tomatoes

Step 1

While you soak moong dal, dice onion and chop tomatoes, green chillies, and garlic.

Step 2

Saute garlic and cumin seeds for a minute in a saucepan with hot oil. Add onions.

Step 3

Drop in chopped tomatoes to the mix along with salt and powdered spices.

Step 4

Once tomatoes are mushy, add soaked dal into the pan. Stir it and add splashes of water.

Step 5

Add half a cup of water and turn down the flame. Let the mixture cook for 15 minutes.

Step 6

Garnish it with chopped green chillies and coriander leaves.
