Halwa, the rich and traditional Indian dessert, is highly versatile and just perfect to cosy up in winter. If you have a sweet tooth, you must try this quick dry fruit halwa recipe at home.
1 cup mixed dried fruits (dates, figs, raisins) 1 cup mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts) 1/2 cup ghee 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup milk 1 teaspoon cardamom powder A pinch of saffron
Chop the dried fruits and nuts into small pieces.
Heat some ghee and roast the chopped fruits and nuts till fragrant.
Add sugar and milk and stir till the halwa thickens. Mix in cardamom powder and saffron.
Transfer the halwa into a bowl and garnish with more nuts and dry fruits.
