Drumstick Kadhi: A Comforting Delight For Rainy Season

Kadhi is a popular gravy-based dish that is enjoyed all over the country in different versions. Here is the recipe to make this classic side dish with drumstick that is perfect for a rainy day.

Ingredients

1.5 cup curd, 4 tbsp besan, 4 drumsticks, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 2-3 green chillies, 1 sprig fresh curry leaves, salt to taste Tempering: 2 tbsp oil, 2 pinch asafoetida, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 2-3 dry red chilies, Garnish: 1-2 sprig Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)

Step 1

Take a wok and add curd, besan, turmeric, salt and green chilies. Stir vigorously to make a fine paste. Add water till it comes to a pouring consistency.

Step 2

Switch on the heat and let the kadhi boil. Once it starts boiling add drumstick pieces and let the kadhi cook in low flame till it's desirably thick.

Step 3

Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and prepare the tempering by adding the above-mentioned ingredients.

Step 4

Add tempering to the kadhi and turn off the gas. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve with steamed rice.
