Dr J Robert Oppenheimer is famously known for having created the atom bomb and leading the Manhattan Project, but did you know that he was also known for making intensely strong martinis?
Because of a paucity of supplies at his Los Alamos lab in New Mexico, Dr Oppenheimer had to tailor his martini recipe accordingly. Here’s the recipe for you.
4 ounces dry gin ½ tsp dry vermouth Lime juice Honey
Place ice cubes in a glass and chill it properly.
Add the gin and vermouth and stir until the alcohol is also chilled.
Meanwhile, dip the rims of martini glasses into equal parts of lime and honey.
Strain the gin and vermouth mixture into the chilled martini glasses and serve.
