Gujiya, the deep-fried treat, is a traditional Indian sweet that is popularly made for festivals like Diwali and Holi. If you want to make Gujiya at home, here’s an easy recipe you can follow.
For the Dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup ghee Water (as needed) Pinch of salt For the Filling: 1 cup khoya 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup desiccated coconut 1 tsp cardamom powder Oil for frying
Knead a dough with maida, ghee, salt, and water. Let it rest.
Saute khoya till golden brown and add sugar, coconut, and cardamom.
Roll out the dough, add the khoya filling, shape it into crescents and seal the corners.
Heat some oil and deep fry the gujiya till golden brown.
Drain on paper towels, let the gujiya cool, and serve.
