Motichoor Laddu is a traditional Indian sweet made with gram flour, sugar, and dried fruits. This melt-in-the-mouth dessert is a Diwali favourite, adding sweetness to the festive celebration.
2 cups gram flour 1 tbsp fine sooji 1 cup sugar ½ tsp cardamom powder Saffron (a pinch) Chopped cashews and almonds Ghee (for frying and greasing) Orange or yellow food colouring
Sieve gram flour and sooji into a bowl to remove lumps. Add water slowly to the mixture and stir to form a smooth batter.
Mix food colouring into the batter and set it aside.
Heat oil and pour batter over a perforated ladle to fry the boondis.
Prepare sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water until one-string consistency.
Mix fried boondis, nuts, and syrup, stirring until everything combines well.
Shape the mixture into round laddus, greasing your hands with ghee.
