Majun, a traditional Sindhi sweet made with khoya and dry fruits, is a great way to mark the festival of lights. Because of its long storage life, Majun is a great option for celebrations and long trips.

2 cups Dry Dates 1 cup Cashew 1 cup Almonds 1 cup Walnuts ¼ cup Dry coconut 2 tbsp Gond (Edible Gum) 2 tbsp Cardamom Powder 2 tbsp Poppy Seeds 2-3 tbsp Oil 2-3 tbsp Ghee ½ cup Sugar ½ cup Water 100 g Khoya (unsweetened)
You can either crush or chop the dry fruits according to your preference. Combine sugar and water in a pot and heat it until the sugar completely dissolves.
You can start by adding a mixture of oil and ghee to the pan. Then, fry the gond until it reaches a popcorn-like texture. Gently crush them and set them aside. In the same pot, add the remaining oil and ghee. Cook the khoya on a low flame until it turns a beautiful golden brown.
Now include all the dry fruits, coconut, cardamom, and poppy seeds (after soaking them in water for 10 minutes). Mix everything thoroughly. Crush the gond and mix it nicely.
Gradually pour the sugar syrup in two separate batches and thoroughly combine. Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes. Place the mixture in a well-greased pan or plate, and beautifully decorate it with dried fruits and delicate rose petals.
