In the sea of deep-fried food and sugar that constitutes most festive bingeing, these air fried chakli faral are a refreshing clutter breaker. Made with a combination of rice and jowar flour, health meets taste in this ultimate guilt-free Diwali snack.

1 cup jowar flour ½ cup rice flour ½ teaspoon cumin powder ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon chilli powder 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds ½ teaspoon ajwain 1.5 tablespoons melted butter Salt, to taste ½ cup hot water Oil, for brushing

Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl and season the mixture with salt.

Add the butter and mix well to make the mixture resemble wet sand.

Pour in the hot water and knead well to make a soft dough which is rested for 10 minutes.

Brush the inside of the air fryer with some oil and transfer the dough to a chakli press.

Press vertical strips of the dough through, into the air fryer and cook for 5-7 minutes, tossing halfway.
