By Nikita Toppo

Diwali is a festival to celebrate the bond over mithai. Here are five ways to identify whether the sweet you are enjoying is pure or not.

Silver Foil On The Sweet

To identify the quality of silver foil on your sweet, gently touch on the top of it. If the layer comes onto the finger, its mostly fake.

Quality Of Khoya

Rub a little khoya on your thumbnail before buying, if it's pure you will smell the aroma of ghee.

Quality Of Sweet

Dissolve a small piece of sweet in water and shake it vigorously. If it forms lather, the sweet is adulterated.

Adulterated Boondi Ladoo

Do not buy boondi ladoo which is dark orange in colour , as they might have excessive artificial colours which is harmful for health.

Stale Sweet

Make sure you smell the sweet before buying, this is the simplest trick to instantly detect if the sweet is stale.
