Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a joyous and revered Hindu festival celebrated with great enthusiasm across the world. This auspicious occasion marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the beloved elephant-headed deity symbolizing wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. It is said that Lod Ganesh loves feeding on sweets and thus several sweet dishes are offerd to him as prasad. One of them is sheera. Tap to know the recipe here:

1/2 cup rava (normal) 1/2 cup melted ghee 3/4 cup sugar 4 cups hot boiled milk 1 small ripe banana (chopped or grated) 1/2 tsp elaichi powder 1/4 cup mixed dry-fruits : chironji, kaaju & kismis as required Few saffron as required Few tulsi leaves

Heat a pan and add ghee to it. Add the rava. Cook it on low to medium flame till 8 minutes.

Once the rava turns golden add elaichi powder and dry fruits to it. Fry them for a min.

Add chopped bananas to it. Mash it and mix well with the rava. Cook for one minute until it get mixed with the rava.

Add sugar to it and cook for 2-3 minutes. Once the sugar starts melting down, pour hot milk to it.

Add some kesar strands and elaichi powder to it. Cover the pan and cook it for 8-10 minutes.

After 10 minutes add tulsi leaves and serve it as prasad to Lord Ganesha.
