Mochi is a traditional Japanese rice cake made from glutinous rice. It can be filled with sweetened red bean paste, ice cream, or other flavourful fillings.

Similar to mochi, daifuku is a type of rice cake with sweet fillings such as red bean paste, fruit, or ice cream. The rice cake is often dusted with starch to prevent sticking.
