Diabetic Friendly Zero Sugar Kheer For Your Sweet Cravings

You’re a diabetic and not craving sweets, that’s impossible. Although you know that indulging in sweet can be deadly if you’re diabetic. However, what to do when you’re craving for one. Don’t worry, we have this sorted. You can indulge in zero sugar and low glycemic index sweet if you’re a diabetic. We bring to you the recipe of zero sugar kheer. Take a look:

Ingredients

1 cup dried figs 1 cup warm water 1 litre low fat milk ½ cup almond ½ cup cashew 2 tbsp fresh low fat cream ½ tsp cardamom powder 1 pinch saffron strands

Step 1 

Take a bowl and soak 1 cup of dried figs in lukewarm water for 30 minutes.

Step 2 

Place the figs in a blender and make a smooth paste. You can drizzle some water if needed. Make sure the paste is lump free.

Step 3

Take a pan and dry roast almonds and cashew. Transfer them to a plate and lightly crush them or chop them.

Step 4 

Take a heavy bottomed sauce pan and add milk. Boil over medium flame. Keep stirring.

Step 5 

Once the milk get reduced to half, add the cream, figs paste and keep stirring.

Step 6 

Add the saffron strands, cashew and almonds and cardamom powder. Give it a nice mix and simmer the kheer till it attains a nice creamy texture.

Step 7 

Bring the kheer to room temperature and then refrigerate. Serve chilled.
