Ratan Tata, the iconic leader and former chairman of Tata Sons, breathed his last recently. He was widely admired not only for his contributions to business but also for his humble lifestyle. Despite his towering success, Tata’s tastes in food were simple and reflected his deep-rooted connection to Indian culture. His favorite dishes are a mix of comforting Indian classics and wholesome, nutritious foods. Here are six of Ratan Tata's favorite foods that reveal his appreciation for traditional flavours.

Dhansak

As a proud Parsi, Ratan Tata had a special fondness for traditional Parsi dishes like Dhansak, Sali Boti (a spicy mutton dish topped with fried potato straws) and Patra ni Machhi (steamed fish wrapped in banana leaves with chutney). These classic dishes remind him of his cultural heritage and family traditions.

Eggs

A regular part of his diet, scrambled eggs reflected Tata’s love for simple yet nutritious meals. He often started his day with eggs, which are quick to prepare and provide a healthy dose of protein.

Mangoes
