If you are an egg person and can’t live without omelettes, you must try Denver Omelette. While the ingredients of this recipe make it delicious, its history is equally tantalising. It was once part of one of the most famous egg sandwiches in the world. Let’s learn the recipe of Denver Omelette and its history.

Denver Omelette is most likely a predecessor version of egg foo young. Apparently, in downtown Denver, Chinese labourers made it this way to hide the rotten egg smell.
Denver Omelette, had emerged as Denver Egg Sandwich, and by the 1950s, it was one of the most popular egg sandwiches.
By the 1980s, the Denver Egg Sandwich caught the attention towards its egg stuffing, i.e., the omelette. It so happened that people kept the bread aside and ate the omelette with a knife and fork.
Ingredients 3 large eggs ¼ cup diced smoked ham 1 tbsp butter 2 tbsp chopped green bell pepper 2 tbsps diced onion ⅓ cup shredded Cheddar cheese Salt to taste Black pepper powder Pinch of cayenne pepper
Mix the eggs in a bowl until there are still visible streaks of yellow. Do not over-blend.
Begin by melting the butter in a pan over medium heat. You may season it with salt and pepper and add ham, onions, and peppers.
After 5 minutes of constant stirring, the onions should be soft, and the ham should start to caramelise.

Reduce to medium heat. Mix in the eggs now. Spread the ingredients across the pan by quickly stirring with a spatula and shaking the pan.
Quickly circle the omelette with the spatula. Sprinkle some cayenne pepper and cheddar cheese into the omelette.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the top is still wet but not runny, about 5 minutes. Fold the omelette in half and serve.
