Delicious Mango Sasav Recipe For A Filling Summer Dinner

Mango sasav, also called mango sasam or ambe sasav, is a popular dish in the Konkani communities. It is a savoury curry known for its spicy and tangy flavours and as the name implies, it features mangoes as the main star of the dish. The curry is widely enjoyed during the summer months.

Ingredients

2 diced ripe mangoes 1 cup grated coconut 1-2 green chillies 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste Jaggery or sugar (optional) Curry leaves Oil for tempering

Step 1

Grind coconut, chillies, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, turmeric, and salt into a paste.

Step 2

Heat oil, and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.

Step 3

Add ground paste, cook, then add mangoes, salt, and jaggery.

Step 4

Simmer until the mangoes are tender. Adjust seasoning and serve hot with rice.
