Get A Taste Of Uttar Pradesh’s Yummy Breakfast

This quick and easy dish is mostly enjoyed as breakfast. Dalia upma is diabetic friendly as well as good for weight loss. Here is an easy recipe to make it at home.

Ingredients

4 tsp oil, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp urad dal, ½ tsp cumin, few curry leaves, 1 dried red chilli, 8 whole cashew, ½ onion, 2 green chilli, 1 inch ginger, 1 tomato, 2 tbsp carrot, ¼ potato, 2 tbsp peas, 5 beans, ¼ tsp turmeric, ¾ tsp salt, 1 cup broken wheat, 3 cup water

Step 1

Heat oil in a skillet and add mustard, urad dal, cumin, curry leaves, red chilli and cashews. Sauté on medium flame.

Step 2

Now add onion, green chilli and ginger and sauté well. Further, add tomato, carrot, potato, peas and beans. Season with turmeric and salt. Cook well.

Step 3

Now add broken wheat and roast for 5 minutes. Pour 3 cups boiling water and cover and cook for 2 minutes on high flame. Finally, serve hot with chutney.
