Dahi makhana chaat is the perfect combination of taste and health. Makhana and dahi act as a decent source of protein while also tasting absolutely fabulous in this simple dish. Made using staple pantry ingredients, this snack can be enjoyed at any time of the day.
2 cups makhana 1 cup yoghurt 1 small onion 1 small tomato 1 small cucumber 1 tablespoon coriander leaves 1 teaspoon chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder Salt to taste Oil for frying Optional: Sev, tamarind chutney, 1 green chilli
Heat oil in a pan and fry the makhana until they are crisp. You can skip this step if you prefer to use roasted makhana.
In a bowl, combine the chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, green chilli, and coriander leaves.
Add the fried or roasted makhana to the bowl. Pour the whisked yoghurt over the makhana and vegetables.
Sprinkle chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and salt over the yoghurt. If using, drizzle some tamarind chutney over the chaat for extra flavour.
Garnish with sev on top. Serve and enjoy your snack.
