Punjabi samosa is a popular snack that is famous across North India. These are most savoured as snacks with tea but now people also enjoy them for breakfast or prepare samosa chaat for a twist. Make crispy Punjabi-style samosas with this recipe.
For Dough 6 tbsp water 2 cups maida ¾ tsp salt 60 ml oil ¾ tsp carom seeds For Spice Blend ¾ tsp red chilli powder ¾ tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp fennel powder 1 tsp garam masala ½ tsp cumin powder
For Potato Filling ½ cup peas 4 medium potatoes A pinch of hing 1 tbsp oil 2 green chillies 1 tbsp lemon juice 4 tbsp coriander leaves ½ tsp salt 1 tbsp ginger
Cook boiled potatoes with peas and spices mentioned in the ingredients.
While the mixture is cooked, knead the dough and keep it aside.
Dry roast spices and add the blend to the potatoes and peas mix.
Roll the dough and cut it into half.
Stuff it with potato and peas mixture. Seal the edges and deep-fry.
Once the crust is brown and crispy, serve samosas.
