If your love for all things crustacean means that you’re always on the lookout for simple but interesting recipes, this prawn toast can pretty much check all the right boxes. Crispy, cheesy, spicy and savoury at once, enjoy this loaded open toast as brunch, a snack or even for a light dinner with soup.
8-10 medium prawns, cleaned 1 cheese cube 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes 2 cloves garlic, peeled 1 spring onion, chopped 4 slices white bread Salt and pepper, to taste Oil, for pan-frying
Add the cleaned prawns, spring onion, chilli flakes, garlic and cheese to a food processor and grind into a paste.
Season with salt and pepper before smearing it over one side of the bread.
Place the bread face-side down in some hot oil and allow it to cook for 3-4 minutes.
Once it browns slightly, flip it over and cook for another couple of minutes. Serve hot.
