Crispy Namak Para Recipe For Tea Time Snacking

Namak Para is a crispy Indian snack made from flour, carom seeds, and spices, deep-fried to golden perfection. Enjoy these crunchy bites with tea or as a snack.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon semolina (optional) 1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder Water (as needed) Oil for deep frying

Step 1

Combine flour, semolina, carom seeds, salt, turmeric, and chilli powder. Add water to make a firm dough. Rest for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2

Now, divide into balls, and roll each thinly. Cut into strips, then into diamond shapes.

Step 3

Heat oil in a pan. Fry namak para in batches until golden and crisp.

Step 4

Remove with a spoon, and drain on a napkin until cool and crispy.

Step 5

Store in an airtight container, serve with tea and enjoy!
