Achu Murukku, also known as Rose Cookies, is a crispy and mildly sweet treat made using rice flour, maida, and coconut milk. This traditional snack can be prepared easily at home using a handheld mould for deep frying.
1 cup maida 1/4 cup rice flour 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1 cup coconut milk 1 tsp sesame seeds Salt to taste Water as needed Oil for deep frying
Mix maida, rice flour, powdered sugar, salt, and sesame seeds in a bowl. Add coconut milk and water to the mixture until a slightly thin batter forms.
Heat oil in a pan, and warm the mould by dipping it in the hot oil for 15 seconds.
Dip 3/4th of the mould into the batter, ensuring it sticks well to the mould.
Carefully dip the batter-coated mould into the hot oil and wait a few seconds.
Gently shake the mould to release the murukku and fry until golden on both sides.
Remove the Achu Murukku from oil, drain on a tissue, and allow it to cool before storing.
