Mushroom butter masala is a savoury Indian vegetarian dish made with mushrooms cooked in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce.
250 grams mushrooms 2 tbsp butter 1 onion 2-3 garlic cloves 1-inch piece of ginger 2 tomatoes 1/4 cup soaked cashew nuts 1 tsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/2 tsp coriander powder 1/2 cup heavy cream Salt to taste Fresh coriander
In a pan Heat butter, Add the sliced mushrooms and saute until they turn golden brown.
Now in another pan add butter chopped onions and grated garlic saute until they become translucent.
Add tomato puree to the pan and cook. Meanwhile,blend soaked cashew nuts into a smooth paste.
Add this too and mix well. Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
Stir everything together and cook for a few minutes. Now Add the sautéed mushrooms in the gravy.
Stir well and simmer the gravy for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
