This is a delicious frozen dessert that is made using staple pantry ingredients and it is extremely silky, creamy, and dense. The chocolate flavour is a great addition that makes it even more indulgent. Here's a quick recipe for you to try.

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk 1 cup heavy cream 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 4 large egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pinch of salt Optional toppings: chocolate shavings, chopped nuts, whipped cream

Step 1

Heat milk, cream, sugar, cocoa, and salt in a saucepan until hot but not boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar and cocoa.

Step 2

Whisk egg yolks in a bowl, then slowly add hot milk mixture to temper eggs.

Step 3

Return mixture to saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Do not boil.

Step 4

Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and cool slightly. Strain custard into a bowl, cover, and chill for 4 hours or overnight.
